Collecting Flipbook Art

Collecting flip books is one of the smartest hobbies you can get into.  Not only do you collect the cartoons you grew up with, but also you get the moving image and scene along with it.  Because the books are small, you can build up a vast collection using just one bookshelf.

Right now, millions of people are collecting special ‘rare’ US State Quarters. There are 1,346,624,000 Connecticut coins.  465,200,000 Iowa coins. How many decades will it take these coins to become rare? Flip books have not been tapped yet by hobbyists. Most antique store owners are not aware of the term “flipbook” unless you mention  “those little Disney books”.  However, Disney is a small part of the flip book arena. There are advertising flipbooks, biography flips,  greeting cards flips, Art flip books, “How to” flips, Antique flick books, Sexually themed flips, Sports books, Story flipbooks, movie book promotions and so on...

With the arrival of EBAY, they are now available from around the world.  These vintage books are so rare; there are no price guides on flipbooks yet. The time is right- the prices are low, and the selection is high.

How to buy an Authentic book

Beware of the seller who steers you away from the
book facts.  This a tiny moving book from the days before movies...  When in fact they are selling a new copy of that
vintage book.  New vintage - ain't vintage.

Watch out for 'sellers' selling 1 page
from a flipbook.  They might tear off a page of 1934 Babe Ruth Flip book, slip the word "card" in the description. Then talk about what a great addition it is to any collection. And it is graded by AAA (American Authentication Association)NM-Mt8. Bull. it is still one card.

Check the selling history of the book seller on ebay. Look for a large number of sales and at least 98% positive score. Read negative comments if you have doubts.
